“Bullying” My Final Art Foundation Diploma Project, Nathan Wyburn

READ: Heres a quick thankyou, and a tour of my final college show. All the photography and sculpture you see here is created by myself for my final project. Bullying is a very serious issue amongst society, its said that it occurs every 7 seconds at schools and around 31 per cent of kids experience bullying during childhood. As a bully victim myself (if you would like to read more into my experience read my myspace blog) I took my own experience as my main influence and decided to take it upon myself to address this situation within my artwork. The images you see here are examples of various genres of bullying such as Sexuality, Weight, Intelligence, Hair Colour, Ethnicity and Personal style. These are just a few reasons for which somebody may experience bullying. Bullying doesnt only happen to younger generations, though its most common, it happens to adults too, in places such as work and even within relationships. Throughout my project I attempted to show various aspects of the emotions in which victims may feel while being bullied. I want people to look at my work and be shocked, I want people to remember these victims faces, stop and think about how serious the situation can become, and have you ever turned a blind eye? What are your feelings towards the topic? Were you ever bullied? Are you there for your children, your friends if they tell you their being bullied? Each of us as individuals have a right to lead a happy joyful life, but everyday, every few seconds
